Trendy Bathroom Tile Choices
What are the trends in bathroom tiles? The palette is mostly neutral, sophisticated and balanced equally between warm and cool tones with a heavy emphasis on grays and muted colours.
Patterned Tiles
Create an eclectic feel by going for a mismatch effect. Apply tiles to walls for a fresh feel and to accentuate a room.
Hardwood
The tile industry has gotten really creative at manufacturing tiles out of one material to look like another material and a perfect example of this porcelain tile made to look like real hardwood. It looks fabulous!
Available in a range of different sized ‘planks’, the tile is much easier to care for than real wood. And porcelain’s natural resistance to moisture makes it an appropriate material for bathroom applications.
Geometric
Geometric shapes such as hexagons and fashion inspired herringbone patterns offer a fresh and bold design – outside the rectangular or square box. Many tiles have a very modern feel to them and should only be added to houses that reflect this same look. This trend can also work well mixed with other styles, such as eclectic and 1960s vintage for a fusion style.
Beveled
The Beveled subway tile and 3D tile adds dimension, depth and interest to a basic geometric shape. Look for large tiles scored to look like smaller tiles.
Living Walls (nothing to do with tiles!)
We’re seeing these living walls drawn into more and more room designs, and expect this trend to continue.
